Ill start by saying i have a 1982 fox (body) its on its 4th or 5th engine, 2nd trans, has an 8.8 out of a cobra unknown year, and random sprinkled parts and pieces here and there, had about 6 layers of paint. It was a pile of garbage, and i paid that for it. when i bought it it barely ran. with a little love Ive gotten it up to a running a driving state.

Now my problem. between stripping the paint and age. i need to replace every single bit of weather stripping and seam sealer that was on the car. Im super lost as far as what im looking for outside of just door weather stripping. If someone has a list of parts to order or even just what some of these parts are called i would be super excited.

(sorry for horrible formatting, first post)

Do you have any pictures of the parts or areas you are unsure of?
My Phone is not co-operating with me. i know i need door seals all around. what im most confused about is the windows. where the window rolls up and down. im missing chunks of material in random places. out side the door doesnt look so good and the inside is hard as a rock.

Well, i thank you! i dont know that those will fit the bill exactly.
do you happen to know where i could find any oe repos for window channel.

some times finding parts that have no name is difficult until you can find a name for the part. this is my first rebuild project and its a whole new world. Right now there are a lot of that thing this thing and that doo hickey, bendy bendy piece thing.

I've been messing with cars my whole life, but the car I'm working on now is the first that I have ever tried to restore to any degree. I am no expert on doing this or where to find parts. I would suggest getting on sites like LMR and CJ pony parts and just start going through everything they have listed as weather stripping. That's what I did. LMR has lots of videos. Be careful with those though. They are bad about leaving out the really difficult time consuming parts. In other words they make it look way easier than it is a lot of times. Same for CJ. If you start posting pics of what you are looking for I think you will get more people to respond and help you find the parts you need. Check out this thread on door weather stripping.

My thread on the door weather stripping will be done soon. I picked the worst possible time in history to do it...lol. Weeks of flooding, two weeks of 20 degree weather, then more rain...none of which are good for flexible part changing. I'll say this for advice. Don't buy a giant package of weather stripping for the whole car. Those packs are normally full of cheap pieces. Pick the best parts (coming soon) and do it right the first time.

Go to LMR or CJ Pony and look up all the weather seals. You’ll see what you need. If the window runs are dry and chunking apart, you’ll have to remove door panels and work in the door to get at it. The door/wipes aren’t too bad, but you’ll have to have the door panel off to replace the inside wipe. LMR has videos showing how to do a lot of this, and you can google other videos. I did ALL mine, it’s not too bad.

If you replace the window runs, remove the window motors and check their plastic “clutch’s” too... they’re always bad.
