I got a 82 gt with stock 302 motor. Just purchased a weiland stealth intake . looking for a set of aluminum heads that will work well with manifold and stock motor with out changing anything. Thanks

The Weiand Stealth is a very entry-level intake manifold meant for a mostly stock engine. You'll be wasting your money on better heads with that intake. Sell that intake and take your entire planned combination into account. Even a set of Ebay Floo-Tek heads would be restricted by that intake.

If what you're after is good street manners, throttle response, and low-end torque, the Weiand Stealth paired with a set of stock or ported E7TE heads or a set of stock GT40/GT40P heads would be nice enough with a stock or mild cam and a 500-600cfm carburetor, if you're wanting more, especially something requiring upgrading to aluminum heads, it's just not the right intake for the job.

Looking for something with more h.p. without rebuilding the stock motor.any mods for the motor. Open to any suggestions.

What are your plans, daily driver, street strip.
Gear change, good headers, update the brakes, maybe subframe connectors, rebuild the suspension, that will eat up a budget and then you enjoy a spirited ride and by then you'll have learned more about what you want.
There are head cam intake kits that will wake up that ride but make sure it can handle upgrades in hp when making a plan.

Looking for more h.p. without going to radical. Maybe 100 h.p. without spending a ton of money.

Personally,...I think you should spell Weiand ( "say Why-and" ) one more time just for good measure.:nice:

Clearly, they got tired of having their name butchered to the point of actually casting the pronunciation into the manifold.

There must be a significant difference between the injected version, and the carb'd version of that manifold then, because the carb'd version that I had on my 460 was good to 7000 RPM.

A N/A 302 north of 300hp..... plan to spend some money.

First off 300hp and stock suspension don't play well together, sub-frame connectors at a minimum. S.S. brake lines and hawk pads.
170cc runner head 10:1 comp cam and a name brand intake with 750 carb.

Ok, not knowing a whole lot about your car, lets look at it this way, heads, cam, intake, look for kits that are designed to work together, most will have a carb or a recommendation for one, headers of course, I prefer long tubes for low rpm torque, not really a lot of difference between the short and long tube headers but I believe the long ones are better for the lower rpm range, that will be your choice.
Now for the less important stuff, BRAKES
The brakes on these cars are small for the size car they are on, so updating your brakes and making sure you suspension is good is juat as important as making enought hp and tq to impress your friends.
Now get that summitt catalog out and start shopping.
Forget about horse power, its the torque that will be your friend on the street.

Holley/Weiand says they're good to 6000rpm.

I had one on a 400ci Chevy with a 750cfm Edelbrock carb, Flowtech headers, a mild cam, and decent iron heads, and it pretty much fell on it's ass at 5500rpm (could've been the heads, they were stock, but one of the better Chevy castings, can't remember which, I parted that truck out seven years ago), though it pulled like you wouldn't believe to that point and was damned good for towing in the old farm truck it was in.

Car is pretty much stock all around.

I have a buddy with a stock bottom end, aluminum world products windsor sr heads, weiand stealth, holley 600 and long tubes. It hauls ass. Very strong car, it pulls like mad to 6000 and actually has more low end torque than my turbo car has... until the boost comes on. His car is a hoot. Reminds me of my highschool days in the 80s when you'd hear vacuum secondaries open, followed by the smell of tire smoke. Don't be afraid of that intake. It'll do just fine.

You will find that on a forum you have a much better chance of getting better information. This isn't like bookface (obviously). Here if someone makes an "error", there are at least a dozen more knowledgeable folks around to help get it straight. :)

Hmm...The guy who dynoed my 347 said the Stealth was choking it. It then proceeded to pull well past 6500 and put down 362/364 at the wheels and shocked everyone there. He then pulled up other dyno runs from guys who had aftermarket heads and "better intakes" that made less or similar power as my ported 351 head combo. Personally if I'm going with a duel plane there isn't an intake on the market I'd run over a Stealth.
