weight 5.0 vs 4.6

Does anyone know how much a 4.6 modular weighs compared to the pushrod 5.0. I'm talking longblock, if you unbolted it from the car and weighed it.

i don't know for sure, but my money is on the 5.0L being lighter by a long shot.

The 5.0 is approx. 450lbs.
I think the 4.6 is about 560lbs.

Cool, I was just looking for this info! Based on that I may just go ahead and use an iron block, with aluminum heads that will be cut down to 400lbs!
