what is the weight difference of an aluminum 5.4 block vs an iron 4.6. i finally have the money for a shortblack and am leaning twords the 5.4. Thanks in advance
well a 4.6L aluminum block is 70lbs lighter than an iron block. so i'd guess the 5.4L aluminum block would be about 50lbs lighter than the iron 4.6L.
if handling is a concern, remember that the center of gravity is a bit higher in the 5.4L engine. but probably not much to worry about. also, you'll need a new hood with a 5.4L.
