Tonight, upon noticing one of my subwoofers was broken, I took out the huge box and carried it into my room. A few minutes later, I'm driving around, and I'm amazed by the huge difference in performance of the car.

My question is, since I've been thinking about removing the A/C and rear seat, will these things significantly better my performance numbers? And what else, besides power steering, can I yank out to drop my car's weight a considerable amount? I know this question has been asked before, but what I'm looking for is people who have done it, and what they noticed about the performance of their stangs afterwords....

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! :nice:

Depending on how sensitively your SOTP meter is calibrated, you can feel some pretty minor weight loss. I can feel the difference between a passenger or a full tank tank vs empty. I'd probably say you can feel a loss of 50-75 pounds if you're paying attention.

As far as performance, the general rule of thumb is every 100 lbs you drop is good for a tenth. The same is said for every 10 lbs of rotating mass. It is also said that 10 hp is roughly a tenth.
