Just got a new belt installed after some idler pulley issues & a shredded belt from some alignment issues. Idler pulley that got replaced is maybe a tiny bit smaller than the original pulley(0.25-0.5 inches smaller). The belt is the same size as before, but for some reason the new belt makes a repetetive thwacking/chirping sound for about a minute until its warmed up. once its warmed up, the sound is gone. The belt is a cog style belt and running it with an 8 rib setup/Vortech S trim. Any clues to why it would be making that sound until its warm?

Try a new tensioner. When I S/Ced my Cobra, I bought a forged steel belt tensioner. That thing is more heavy duty than the stock aluminum one, and it helps with mods like yours.

The tensioner is brand new. thats why i'm so confused on this issue. Everything is freaking brand new and i dont understand what this sound would be. And why it only does it for the first 1 or 2 min until its warmed up and then dissapears.
