After about 800 miles on my wife's 2006 GT Auto I have started to notice a distinct shudder that you can feel with your fingertips on the shift handle under moderate to hard acceleration from a dead stop. I've heard of axle hop, and I've experienced it in other cars. But, that hopping on those other machines felt like the car was going to come apart! This is a much milder vibration. Could it be the axle wrapping and causing the tranny tailshaft and axle pinion to get out of alignment?
Also, during the same moderate to hard acceleration I can hear a whistle from under the hood. My wife asked if the noise was the turbo. I replied, "We don't have one, yet!". Reminds me of when the old guys used to drill holes in their pulleys.
Anybody else experiencing this kind of stuff? BTW, I LOVE THIS CAR! I will be taking it to Houston Raceway Park in a few more hundred miles to establish a good baseline, then come the mods!
