Weird intake noises

Hey guys im new to this so bare with me. I have an 03 GT 5 spd, and the other day it started making a low pitched intermittent hum. I listened closer and it seems to be coming from the intake tube (intake). Does anyone know what this could be. If in a quiet area it can be heard from 20ft away. The rpm`s seem to dip slightly when it is making the noise.

Does it happen when you first turn the car on or is it constant? Have you done any mods to your intake or exhaust?

Check your intake tubes and make sure you dont have a leak anywhere. If you dont see a noticeable leak and/or you dont have the check engine light, then chances are you're ok. Intake noises are sometimes normal. Especially if you have an aftermarket intake.

Nope its constant. The only intake mods I have done is got a k&n replacement and took off the air silencer. But it didn`t start until about a week ago. Thats at least a month after i did those things. I also have an o\r BBK x pipe with mil eliminators but that has been on for at least six months with no lights showing up.

If you dont have a SES light, then its probably normal. It could be a noise you havent picked up on before but has been there the whole time. Believe me, my Mustang has made some odd noises before but they must be normal cause I cant find anything wrong.
