Weird Noise on new engine...

Fresh 302 mexican with a fresh c-4 behind it, primed and ready, Take it out for a few runs and makes a noise similiar to a baseball card hitting a bycycle's spoke, it does it always when driving and rarely when in park. If you rev it up, it will do it for a few seconds and die away, I only had it occur constantly for a few times in park but dies away if I kill and restart. I suspected valve train, but the rockers are all snug. Any Ideas? Thanks

Motor mounts good? Fan hitting something?

Check the tips of your fan blades for a shinny spot,
then recheck your motor mount thru bolts for proper tork.
mine did that when i first installed the motor.
it was the fan hitting the shroud when the motor twists under load.

Ill check it out, but honestly it sounds like its coming towards the rear of the engine, maybe the tranny??
