Weird noise...

I've got an 02 GT, 12k miles, and when I drive around w/ the windows down I've noticed there's a weird "clicking" noise coming from the front wheels when I take a turn. It's very noticeable when I take a turn next to a wall or next to something that the sound can bounce back from. The harder/faster I turn, the louder/faster it clicks. It's not something you can't notice, it's loud, and its been going on for a while. As far as affecting any kind of performance, I can't notice anything...I haven't messed with anything down there and I haven't had a wreck of any kind. It's annoying, and if there's anybody out there who's had the same problem or a similar problem, what's going on down there? :(

Have you taken the wheels off to inspect? Have you checked to see if the lug nuts might be working themselves off? It definately sounds like something with your wheels or brakes/rotors are causing your sound problem.

Haven't taken the wheels off to check...to tell you the truth, its been going on for a while, a few months. Reason I'm posting something this late is because I drove by a Ford dearlership when I first noticed it and they said stuff like that was normal, the guy didn't even have me drive around to show him, he just gave me that answer based on my description. Since I'd only had gotten that car a few months before I noticed it, I thought I was just being paranoid...but now that I know more about that car, I think there's definetly something wrong...I don't have a garage or somewhere I can work on my car since I'm going to school right now, but I can check to see if somethings loose, if not, guess I've gota drive my ass to a dealership, unless somebody's had the same problem and knows an easy fix

Well first we must find out what is wrong. I would take out your jack and remove your front tires. Shouldn't take anymore than 20 min. tops (per tire) to remove and inspect for obvious signs of damage. Your problem might just be a rock/nail stuck in your tire. Then again it might be a serious brake problem.

I have a nail right now that clicks when it hits the ground. Due to its angle of penetration, I am better off leaving it in.

strange clicking in left front

I have the same 'clicking' intermittantly. I lowered with H&R Super Sports, Steeda X2 balljoints, bumpsteer kit, Tokico Illuminas, and spring isolators. Had the front end aligned by a reputable professional. Cars steers and handles great. Just hear that clicking primarily at slower speeds. And coming from the left front. Inspected with tires off and everything is snug. 01GT vert.

Possible Option

Have you had a brake job done recently? If you had the brakes done it is possible that the calipers are loose and the are making that clicking sound? Just a suggestion.
