Been getting this weird noise in my 95 GT. Its more of a high pitch squeal. But it only happens when im in gear, and more constantly when i am harder on the gas. It also happens sometimes when going over bumps. But it doesnt happen during shifts. Anyone with any ideas on what it could be? Thanks for any help.

Could be the belt squealling.

Where (on the car) does the noise sound like it's coming from?

It could also be rusty U-joint needle bearings. They'll squeal pretty good (proportional to absolute speed) but can stop when you shift because you unload the DS. It's something to consider. I had this issue once and it was hard to track down because the U-joints themselves were tight - they 'tested' fine. An old time mechanic told me about the corrosion issue and sure enough, though I was skeptical, there was no grease left in the caps and the needles looked like chit.

Not that this is your issue - it's just something to consider.

Good luck.

It seems like its coming from somewhere in the driveline or rear suspension because its coming from either even with the driver or behind. It doesnt sound like its an engine compartment noise.

Rear U-joints tend to wear about twice as fast as fronts.

Good luck.
