Anyone encounter this? It's like when I drive for at least 10 mins - when I turn off the car, I then hear a rattling-like sound. It's not major, doesn't affect anything, but I would like to know what the hell it is.

Kilgore might be right, it seems to be in that general area. It's definitely on the driver's side. I'll be sure to take a look.

This may not be it but Ive had this happen to me on 2 different vehicles and a couple buddies have had this problem on a car... The material inside the cat breaks apart then makes it way out the exhaust. If you have straight through mufflers it quickly shoots out. My buddy actually watched his car do this. Was working on it, had it idling and saw it shoot out tail pipe. I would just sometimes hear a rattle as the chunks got stuck in my Flowmaasters. I did some exhaust work and found my cats were hollw. Another buddy found out when he couldnt get his car smogged. Went to replace cat and nothing but pipe. Ive also had the heat shield come un-done and rattle...finally just completely fell off.
thats what my problem was....but i also get a crackle sound after long rides from the cats cooling after i park. Its no big deal.Kilgore Trout said:
