weird squeek

hey everyone, i was wondering if this was normal.

I have a 97GT- Auto

When I really stomp on it, sometimes I hear a big squeek when it changes gears.

I have 4.10's, but this happened stock as well. Anyone else have this happen?

it's the belt tensioner, nothing to worry about. you can eliminate it with a steel one. off the top of my head.. Autozone is selling them now.

You sure? why would it do that, or what is it doing that makes the noise? did this happen to you?

cuz I kinda hear it in the rear of the car.

Had the same thing happen on my 03 GT...like mentioned above it's the belt/tensioner

My 04 does it too sometimes. Usually when I stomp on it and it shifts from 2-3.

You guys say it's the tensioner. Does it not put enough tension?

yup 2-3 is when mine does it also.

mine doe sit on 1-2 and 2-3, it sounds like the belt slips.
