weird start

I had to go to the gas station my gas light was on, ( i have a really bad habit of waiting till the gas light comes on, terrible i no )...... I got there put gas in the car, then went to start and it cranked longer then usual. so i stop waited a second and then turn key and it started normal.

What could that b.. Fuel pump going, Filter ( changed 9 months ago ), mayb cause its gettin alittel colder out?... anybody.. or is it just in my head and im paranoid and it doesnt matter.

Maybe you were literally on the edge of running out of gas... could have sucked some air in the fuel line and it had to pass through before it would fire.

By the way, your fuel pump hates you...

could have been just alittle dirt from being almost empty. should fill up sooner than when the light comes on, its probly nothin

It sounds like the common "mystery hot start problem" known to most 02 owners. Nobody seems to know why it happens. The car is at operating temp, you stop for gas or run in a store for a few minutes, and when you try to start it cranks but won't start. It starts fine on the second try. It happens to me once a week.

Mine does the same thing also every once and a while.

Its an '00 though.
