hey guys, im having some weird timing and vaccum problems with my car. First of all let me just say my car has been running/driving awesome for a long while now. Good throttle response and no stumbling or anything. So i decided to change my PCV valve the other day and come to find out the old PCV valve was not even inside the grommet where it goes! The hose attaching to it was too short so it would go in the hole. Also while i was back behind the intake looking around i noticed one of the vaccum ports on the intake had nothing attached to it. Ive been hearing that leak but could never find it. So i got the PCV all straightened out and capped the vaccum leak. Now my car will not idle at all! Up and down RPM's cause it to die. As soon as i uncapped the port to make it leak it runs awesome again! Ive never heard of a vacuum leak making a car run and idle better than without a vacuum leak!?!?
any ideas guys?????
thanks in advance and sorry for the length!

A bad IAC can be crutched by introducing a small vac leak. Check out your IAC. You might also have to reset the idle (someone probably screwed with it before, during or after the vac leak).

See Jrichker's idle surge sticky for tips and how-to's with cleaning the IAC, checking the idle setting, etc.

Good luck.
