For you guys that have your mufflers welded into your stock cat-back, did your exhaust shop make you buy new flow-tubes as well?

When I hear people talking about this subject, they don't seem to ever mention having to purchase anything other than the mufflers.

I used the stock flow tubes. If I had it to do over , and I will, I would go with larger tubes. I also installed an HPipe.

no flow tubes here, just the x-pipe, flows, and stock catback piping.

What I'de like to know is if anyone has welded in a pair of one chamber flowmasters on a stock catback? The smallest size I can find is 2.5" and I know our stock exhaust is 2.25". Welding shouldn't be a problem but the physical size of the muffler is what has my concern. Center inlet/outlet. Are they gonna be able to twist it without crunching up the pipes and/or adding new pipes?

I had flowmasters welded in. They were 40 series. They did not have any problems at the muffler shop. They did not heve to change any pipes.

That isn't a problem, they'll just use a (2.5"-2.25") reducer on both ends of the mufflers and then weld it.
