Well, I figured it out, the fuel gauge. Help needed.

Well, I installed some white faced guages today, only to uncover why my fuel guage doesn't work. I guess the idiot that installed the last set of guages(fugly) managed to destroy the circuitry on the back of the speedometer where the wire harness for the fuel/oil level are. I tried my best to put them back together, and it worked for a few minutes, but the **** was just too brittle and ended up breaking.

Can I get an autometer fuel level guage and just wire the electrical into the ford wireharness? Or would I have to hook up the autometer sending unit and run the electrical?
