Well I decided to play around with a cobra today and when I went to down shift I missed a gear and I think I hit reverse. I immediately had no clutch pedal after that. I think I bent the clutch fork. All the gears seem fine but needless to say It will be headed to the shop. Any body know if this sounds like a reasonable guess of he damage that I have done?

Made the same mistake a few years back. Went to down, missed it and ended up busting the rivets off a decent clutch disc. Ended up stopping, throwing it in third gear, somehow got it rolling downhill as we started it and driving it all the way home. Pulled it apart and the clutch disc was in the shape of a triangle...lol (hung it on a wall untill a couple of years ago). It was anoying at the time, but probably saved me from buying another tranny. Good luck, hope its the least damage possible.

Nothing worse than messing with someone and screwing up your car. So damn embarrassing.

How'd you get it home?

I was able to get it in 5th gear and drive most of the way home. I had to pull over cut it off and start it in 1st gear. I can push the clutch pedal in and the car will start in gear. That allowed me to drive the rest of the way home. I checked all the gears and they seem ok.

I had the same problem in my old eclipse, but it was my slave cylinder. There was no pressure on the pedal, it wouldn't shift. But I could press the pedal in and start the car.

That would be great if it was the slave cylinder.

I had a buddy of mine take it to his shop yesterday. Hopefully he will get into it tomorrow. If I wasted the trans I may look at a six speed conversion.
