well i suck..

@ drag racing! went to a year one show, but my whole point in going was to go racing afterwards. well i leave a lil early from the show so to get ahead of all the cars. i get thru tech and zoom to staging. no cool down or anything, i wanted to race.

this is my 2nd time out with my car, 1st time was when it was stock. i cant find the slip.

anyways so im there nervous as he!!. and i run a damn 16.9 @ i cant remember and dont want to. i spun thru 1st and 2nd. so im like ok chill out. so i got some tips from a few guys and didnt do so much spinning. and heres how the rest of the night went...
15.0 @ 95
14.7 @ 95

i had tons of fun, but i really would like to get better times. im sure the car can do it, i just have to learn to drive it. i was a lil embarassed, but was having too much fun so i was like fuggit. never got into it before cuz my last car was a contour svt, but now im addicted!! im gonna start going more often. i also have a friend who said i can run his mt drag radials when i go. i cant wait to go again!!

yea when i saw that 16.9 i felt sick! i felt better that they came down a lil, but i still wanted to do more. i was going to run again, but they were closing the lanes. i didnt wanna leave!

im sure it took a lil away, my drivers side shock was blown. i think it was blown when i got it. (that why i got gangsta lean!) a new one should be here wed. tho.

i wish! stock block prolly has 140,xxx miles on it. my next thing will be heads and prolly gears.

So how does the tf intake work with stock heads? It's not too much intake? Seems like it is doing good on your simple combo.

i think the power is from idle to 5500. i dont think ive lost any power from it. if anything ive gained some torque. at least it feels that way. im sure itll be better once i get some heads. i want some afrs.

You should bring it down a couple of tenths, but I really don't think it'll do a lot more than that. Get gears, and then we'll see.

Yeah I think for your combo you are probably right on where you should be. The bone stock car is good for about 15.2-15.0 so figure you easily knocked a second of that which is pretty decent. I ran 15.2 at 92 stock at 3000ft alt.

that car is sweet, anthony--kinda reminds me of our cars--all black and sinister-looking.

i agree w/ everyone else--you brought those times down in a hurry. don't sweat it, dude, i havn't even driven my car at the track. hope to this next time around, but i doubt my tranny will hold up.

he!! yea that car is soooooo nice!! i wanted to steal that mofo! i shoulda took some pics of the interior. it was nice.

im going to keep going to the track tho. hopefully i can improve, but if not its ok. i know once i start getting more stuff done i can start going faster. and start breaking stuff too, im sure!

man if u havent gone.. u got to go, its crazy fun!!

huh? no, not yet. ive read too many "which gear" threads, so i kinda been staying away from it. cuz i can never really decide. might be next thing tho. u think it will get me into the 13s?

You are there now

All you need to do is work on getting that 60 foot down.

In Drag Racing, the ability to drive well can over come the guy in the next lane who may have a good bit more hp.
