I rented an Escape recently when I was in Houston and think it was an '08 as it had the new nose. Not a fan of the all the buttons on the centerstack, but was real impressed with how it drove and tight it was. I got 20mpg according to the puter with the v6er and plenty of power in mixed driving.

Don't the new ones (09s?) have a 5sp. auto, I think mine was a 4sp, so you might want to look into that if that matters to you, but i didn't miss the extra gear come to think of it. Good luck with the purchase.

ahh come on now, I still love mustangs... and I am sure I will have another one in the future.

and yes, the 09 has 40 more HP and a 6-speed auto.

After this weekend all my stuff will be off my car and on ebay, minus the cobra tank and pumps. Looks like I am going to have to find a cheap stock tank at a local salvage yard to sell my cobra stuff.... lots of fun..

Good luck with the parting out. Priorities change over time. When I bought my 2000 I said I would never sell it but I did in '05. It wasn't an easy choice but I did it to help keep me in my house. Three years later and I'm back in another Mustang and have another project car next to it. If you are a Mustang fan you'll be back eventually.

In order to keep this thread Talk Friendly, I'll ask members do direct ther "how much do you want for...." questions to PM please.

...good luck with the Escape. My sister has an '07 Limited and she loves it. The newer ones are just that much better. If I wasn't so big, I'd buy one myself.

Yeah, I am really impressed with the 09 I drove the other day. I just wish I could fast forward a couple weeks and have one already. I am already tired of taking parts off and trying to sell them. Oh well, Its what I got to do.

Today after work I get to go buy a ton of shipping supplies..

What year is it?

When i was going to trade in my '03 GT for an '08 G35X, they were going to give me $9500.

I understand what you are going through. I think some of us young guys do hit a point in our lives where we stop tossing $$$ into a car and start thinking about marriage, buying a house, investing our money elsewhere so that we get returns, etc.

The last year i've gotten bored with my '03 GT and just drive it becaise it's all I have to drive. I've been trying to sell it for $10K but all i get are tire-kickers and people who still want to talk me down to $6K or something stupid. It's 100X cleaner than any GT's i've seen on car lots asking $14K and yet i can't get rid of it for $10K.

I still have my 5.0. I figure i buy a house, park the 5.0 in the garage and just wrench on it here and there.

But gone are my days of needing a flashy sports car to drive around in. I have nobody to impress...even myself. I just need a car to drive to and from work and decent enough to take a date out in without waking up the neighborhood at 2AM or being embarrassed to go to a nice restarant and use Valet Parking with.

Damn i feel bad for ya. I hope that never happens to me. I don't think it will though. At least you still have the 5.0. I never get bored with my car even in stop and go traffic. I would be pissed if some one tried talking me down to 6k if i were in that situation.

I still have some love for the car as i refuse to "dump" it. I've almost traded it in a few times but backed out at the last second. I want to see it go to someone that WANTS the car, not just dump it on a used car lot somewhere. I've taken care of the car to the point where its prob the cleanest 5-year old daily driver you'll ever see.

So yeah, reason why i haven't sold the car yet is because i haven't found a situation in which i feel comfortable getting rid of it.
