No offense fellas but I think a couple of those comments were based on "Thirsty Thursday" lol. 4.10's, Spydershaft, CAI, Dyno Tune, X-pipe, Axleback or equilalent, CMDP's, Plugs, ZEX wet kit. Heads alone will cost you close to 3K installed. Not worth it unless you want to sound like a Beast and Eventually Eat like One! You will have traction issues but who gives a **** unless your running the quarter horse..
Not to menton, if done correctly, driven hard and decent weather conditions, it could break into the 11s. To me that is awesome performance from just the standard GT and staying N/A
Hmmm, $3000. Don't know if you wrench or not, but if you don't:
4.10 gears + labor
Spydershaft + labor
underdrive pullies (looks intimidating but it's not)
275 series 18" rubber (any tire place will do it cheap)
cold air kit and tune (15 minutes tops)
Steeda springs (an afternoon but only the fronts are a challenge, but very doable)
lower control arms (another intimidating but relatively easy swap)
That gives you a kick in the pants, and better handling to start. Then deciding on whether you go show, dragstrip or open track, you'll need to do some planning.

-styling
Also your long terms aims and goals. If you plan to keep the car and have a plan buy the founding mods now, the ones you won't really want to do later and it will pay dividends in the long run.
Some say go for nitrous and while I agree its fun and versatile its not what I'd do. Partly because its still pretty expensive to get a decent setup with all the safety features and have it installed if you can't your self. But it also cost $$$$ all the time to use it as it needs filling often.
Also having loads more power and no way to deploy it will means less fun on the road in the twisties. Less grip at the track. The biggest advantage would be roll racing, so you'd only see the money you'd spent on occasions that you had the system active.
My choice for modding the car would be more like this:
- Roush complete Suspension kit (for handling and control, plus will be better at drag racing too) - LMPerformance - $1468
- SVT Mustang Rear Lower Control Arms -Ford Racing - $99
-4.10 gears (or maybe 4.30 if you plan oncams later on) - Steeda - $239.95
-Shifter (to make it more fun to drive and rip thru the gears) - MGW - $290
-Cat/axle back exhaust - $300-400
-mid pipe - $280-400
-CAI like the C&L one with the X-Cal tuning - Brenspeed - £599
-Charge Motion Plates - Steeda - $300
In parts this makes ~ $3500+
But would give you are car that would be much quicker than stock to drive and would handle way better.
Brakes would be another consideration as would upgrading the tyres and/or alloys. Also Under drive pulleys are probably worth a look.
If you plan on a supercharger down the line then you may not want to perform some mods.
I've done mods to all the cars. The only thing I don't do is bottom end, transmission, and rear end. Mainly because I don't have the tools to do it properly.
With that said, I've had experience with different types of mods as well. Cams, headers, gears, supercharger, nitrous, etc.
I was looking to do a mild drag set up that can get me to the mid 12's without nitrous.
So here's the short list I had in mind.
Drive shaft, mid pipe off road, under drive pulleys, cold air, 4:10 gears, nitto drag radials, and lower control arms.
I guess my question was more towards the heads and cam guys. Because I priced out ported heads and stage II cams, springs, gaskets all from Blow By Racing. 2,700. Would I gain more from a head cam swap with a cold air and tuner, or from the list of bolt ons above?
