Since I ran the 12 I figured I could tear into the engine now. Ryan did the same thing after runnign his 12... but he just put a D1R on instead. Me... I swapped the intake manifold from a stock 93 5.0 intake top and bottom to a 93 Cobra manifold that had been extrude honed. This is not a small cross sectional area. These ports are big enough for alot more than my engine. The lower was ported to a felpro 1250, which was about 1/8th of an inch larger than my head ports all the way around. I didnt touch that "shelf", so thats no doubt creating some issues. Also, from the look of it, this intake needs a different cam. The stock cam is making no use of this intake.

So here it is... and no wonder it felt soft on the bottom.

At least I can feel comfortable that it will 1/4 mile alot better. I certainly have recalculated my shift points.

interesting data. I'll try and run the 1/4 soon, but schedule doesnt look good for awhile and I have some 1.7 RRs and some new valvesprings waiting to go on.

I'd like to think that the intake was worth about .15 in the 1/4. We'll see. Its clearly not as much fun on the street... although 284 lb/ft isnt horrible.

oh... for full disclosure, I did swap from 3.73s to 4.10s between those two dyno runs, which is worth about 5-10 hp in my previous experience.

hehehehe... thats just too easy!

so maybe over the winter

Ive got some 1.7s and some new valvesprings to put on, and then Im going to thrash on that combo for the rest of the year and see what I can run.

I got the heads back on the SS this weekend, and it doesnt seem to be burning oil under vacuum any more, so Im on to the clutch as the next item that needs replacement. Thats a mod that will take this summer to get worked out. (did you know that good daycare is over 800$ a month for one kid? )

Considering that I havent had time to get to the strip on a simple friday night.... finding time to do car-work is just about impossible. Today, coincidentally, is laundry day... and since I havent done that in several weeks... I have ALOT to do. (life's a bitch)

Perhaps I'll have time and money again for these cars after I retire. So maybe in 35 years.

I can take this.... so many places

"You know *other* babysitters wont do that for you for $10 an hour."

"Does she charge you for all night when she sleeps over?"

"Is she willing to lower her rate for a Stangnet Group Purchase?"

.... and they go on and on and on......

I am glad to hear that you got the heads fixed. What did they find out with the heads?
Sounds like the SS is going to be ready to run the Cobra when I am done.

Even though you had a smilie dont try to get smart with me, I do not like this 5hit, I dont know if you were charged by your gf's but if you wanna talk like that, talk about someone you know, you dont know her, she's a respectable person and its not cool to be acting like that.

Dude... it was %100 in good fun. Not one ounce of seriousness. Of course I dont know her and of course I am not making any serious comments about her. You give people alot of 5hit yourself on this board, and its all in good fun there too. Im sorry you couldnt see the humour. Maybe you werent in a humourous mood when you read it... thats the wonderful world of the internet I suppose.

Well... its kinda funny. MTI is an amazing shop ( www.motorsporttech.com ), but apparently they didnt "find" anythign wrong with the head, but went through it anyways. Of course it seems to be fine now... so who's to tell what was up.

Ive only got about 4 months left on the warrantee now on the motor, so I need to hurry up and get the clutch in then thrash on it a bit. The one big stipulation for the warrantee is no forced induction and no N20. So... in 4 months... I cant have Ben around here as the only street driven car with 600+ hp They say the motor is "asking" for a 100 shot. I may start hearing that request.

Your cobra will need some competition. Thats sounding like a serious build. How fast are you going to work up to 30 psi? I "heard" that shortblock is waiting for it
