try a cold chisel and a hammer to get the nut off if you don't have a hot wrench.
Another trick is to find a co2 fire extinguisher and spray the nut and bolt.The cold from the co2 shrinks the manifold bolt and you can pretty near take the nut off with your fingers but don't,co2 is very cold.

While all of these methods seem great, I like the "use the right ****ing size to begin with method", it seems to work well. If you do somehow end up stripping something, hammering on a 12 point just about always works if you do it right.

How to split a nut...

Get out your 1/8" drill bit and drill two holes side by side on the flat part of the nut in line with the stud. If you are careful, you will drill the nut and never damage the stud.
Next use a cold chisel to split the nut at the flat where you drilled the two holes.

i've done it many time's not strip my header bolt but what you can do is buy some steal wool find a bolt that fit's it best stuff the socket with steal wool and it should grab try that don't saw it off then you'll really be fcked

ive cut a flat edge onto a round bolt a few times and he's right it does work well, even if you just do two edges and get those vice grips on there better
