WOW is all i can say. That was so much fun. Drag racing is nice and all, but actually turning and braking brings a whole other aspect to the sport. I was actually breathing hard at the end of the run!

I ran my GT, stock except for 13" front brakes and Bridgestone Potenza S-03's.

I did wear a few thousand miles of rubber off my tires, but i guess that's to be expected. Front brakes also got hot and required cooling at the end of the 1.20 run. It actually boiled the high temp paint i used to paint the rotors hat's off. I didn't get any fade though. I could only imagine what stock GT brakes would be like after that.

If i do it again, i need a second set of rubber, and maybe a different set of rotors so i don't have to repaint them. My car does serve as a nice DD, so i don't want ugly looking rotors.

Anyway, i will def be doing it again...maybe take my '88 since it's more setup for it than my GT.

I love SOLO racing. Used to go race every month when I lived in Maui using my 89 GT Auto. It was a blast and you dont have to have a supped up Stang to have fun, a stock car is just as fun. And yeah it kills tires, Sumitomos were nice and cheep and you usually get a good 25-30 runs before they are dead.
