My times improved.. My best was a [email protected] I think.. 2.3 60ft.

Made me smile to know the new rear shocks and new distributer cap+rotor helped.

Also...Weird thing happened on my 3rd run:

I was about 2/3rds down the track and notice this bump in the track coming up fast.. I didn't wanna slam on my brakes so I just layed off the gas..
...
..
.

It wasn't a bump.. It was a ****ing turtle.. I hear it go CLUNK under my car and it put a decent sized dent in my passenger side muffler..

Car still runs fine.. Just pissed me off that nobody threw up a yellow flag to be like..hey...lets wait 5 minutes so we can get this thing off the track..

I mean, it's a turtle for ****in' out loud..It's not like between runs he made it out to the middle of my lane.. it's not like he can just RUN out there...they're ****ing slow as hell...you think somebody who's down at the end of the track coulda' radioed up being like.. hey.. don't let any cars come flying down the track and hit this thing.. it could **** **** up.. nope.. They just watched it.. So when I got my timeslip I was like.. 'Hey, there's a ****ing turtle in the middle of the left lane..might wanna do something about that?!' and all they told me is that they took care of it after I hit it.

He wasn't small either.. A good sized turtle..He lived though..

anyway.. it was a decent night...next friday = f-bodys VS mustangs....

what kind of turtle was it? that's good that he lived...bad for your muffler

I actually quite enjoy turtles...not on the track of course

good job on your times...it sounds like you'd be able to break 14s if you could find some traction/launch better...2.3 is still pretty mediocre

This may come off like the *sshole thing to say...but its not meant to be like that...My ex's completely stock (even air silencer) 1994 Mustang GT convertible with auto ran a 15.4 with her driving it. I decided to run it down the track once to see how well I could do incomparision. Honestly I am convinced I ran a faster time, but b/c my luck blows the only time all night that the lane messed up was on my pass soo of course I didn't get a time but...I'm willing to bet that with 4:10's you need drag radials though. Just keeping working on those times it takes a while to perfect your driving and get used to a newly modded car...good luck

dude...get new tires and you'll be well into the 14s. what are you running right now...with 4.10s and a TC you NEED drag radials
I replied to his other thread.........just get some launch practice in and find where he needs to come off at and then pin it after it hooks up.......

but from the sounds of the animal traffic on the track he needs to get some BAHA tires and have a "spotter" ride with him.....:rlaugh:

PS........is this a dirt track....???????:D

Don't let the keyboard racing get you down. Keep it up, and keep improving! It's all about seat time.

A stock GT vert auto is a low 16 second car from the factory. That dude who's ex-gf ran a 15.4.... well that car must have been a factory freak. I'd like to see that time slip.

You know what you need to do... bring the 60 down. There are a couple different ways to approach this. Maximum Motorsports makes a couple different suspension packages that would help you out big time. Engine modification is only one way to make your car faster.

What I wouldn't do is throw a set of drag radials on the car. With a stock 155K rear end, that would be disastrous. I bent an axle on my car with 3.27s and nitto 555 DRs from a stop light.

It's tough when you realise that all that hard work on your car doesn't mean squat unless you practice, practice, practice. If you gave a person a 10 second car, who had never raced before, do you think they're gonna make a 10 second run? Me neither. I know this; my first ever trip down the track was in my Uncle's high 10 second Grand National... I clicked off a mid 13. Embarrasing? It was then, but looking back, not at all!

Any good advice for getting out of the hole? I've tried slamming on the gas, i've tried easing it outta the hole... both produce about the same time.. i've tried with 20psi in the tires also, I don't think it'd be a good idea to go below that.
