we'll see whos playing catch up
I'm not sure but i'm betting the 5.0 will require premium fuel. Anyone read anything otherwise? I don't see how they manage to run 11:1 and make that kind of power with 87.
Alright this will be my ONLY statement towards you as i dont feel like getting into the usual pissing matchI see, so you're under the impression, that me reffering to you playing "catch up" only has to do with horsepower making capability?
Come talk to me when you get your old school 5.0L making 400+hp in N/A trim, with perfect idle and drivability...all while knocking down 25mpg+ fuel economy in a vehicle with 3,500lb+ curb weight and producing near zero emmisions in the process. And all while while being able to light those fire with just 87-octane in the tank
Match all those parameters and then we'll talk about old school superiority, or even being on an even keel. Until then my friend....we're all playing "catch up" The last crop of Mod motor guys included.
Anyone can make power with an old 302 OHV by adding a pile of displacement, a power adder or a wild valve train. Lets see you do it and remain factory friendly like the 5.0L OHC Ti VCT engine does.

My "5.0" is making well over 400hp, hasnt been tuned cause im saving that money for when the F1c goes in, anyhow im sure backed by a T56 it'll get damn near 25mpg(without the blower), and perfect idle?, to me thats subjective, my perfect idle is something that sounds like a wounded angry badger in heat, i would NEVER run 87 in any of my vehicles so i couldnt give a rats ass about that, if i cared about emissions i wouldnt be DD'ing a diesel truck and if i wanted to stay smog legal with the motor i could have but i dont car about that, so as far as im concerned it'll be well behind me in my "outdated" 2900lb fox
fiveohwblow...your car looks identical to the '93 I owned for 10 years...loved that car!

I'd have to see some kind of proof that an over 400hp 5.0 is knocking down anything over 20mpg. I'm just skeptical on that one. I know my car is carbed and EFI will get a little better, but if i BABY my car and stay off the secondaries completely, i don't get anything over 15mpg and that's in a 2880lb car. I don't see EFI making up for another 10mpg.
like a camaro?AbsolutelyI love this car too and have owned it for 7. Of course I say I will never part with it but... if something better came along
like a camaro?
Did i mention that ford is PAYING ME $50 to test drive the '11 and fill out a survey?
