Went to the dyno today!

Today I made my first visit to the dyno. I put down 240rwhp and 280rwtq on a Dynojet, which I was very pleased with, considering my car is an auto and I have very few power mods. It was a fun day, and the shop was great to work with. I got a printout with both the power/torque curves AND a chart with the datapoints used to make the graph. I can scan it and upload if anyone's interested.

Unfortunately, in the excitement of the event, I forgot to use a fan and didn't let my car cool down between runs; I just pulled onto the roller, let them strap it down, and made my 3 pulls. I don't know if it would have made a difference for me, but I know my friend's naturally-aspirated Dakota R/T gained 20rwhp today between runs by using the fan, letting his truck cool down between runs, pulling the air filter off, and running a short belt. His truck put down 250/330 initially, and 270/340 on his second run.

So, does Stangnet think I would have made more power if I had done those things? What if I add a 75mm Accufab tb/plenum and magnaflow catback, my next planned mods?

If you open up the intake/exhaust it will help out. Just keep an eye on your air/fuel ratio... I have a K&N intake, 75mm tb, and RPM ported plenum and my A/F ratio was a little high, I had to richen it up via Diablosport tuner.

I found the throttle body/plenum combo to help out quite a bit on the top end. Same with the X pipe...

What numbers did you put down? My A/F ratio was between 13 and 13.5 the entire run, and the graph was very smooth. I already have a tune, and although it was just a "mail-order", it is apparently spot-on according to the shop where I dynoed.

You put down almost the exact numbers as my 01 did with these mods:

Amsoil filter/silencer delete, C&L plenum, SCT tune, Borla Exhaust, SLP catted X-pipe

But this is with a 12.5:1 ratio most of the run...a tad rich but safe.

258/314 at the wheels.

My AF was 13.6 or so to start, down to a 13.3-13.4.
