So my new tires came in for my car and I was planning on mounting and balancing them today, so yesterday I thought I would go to the local 1/8 mile track and thrash the hell outa whats left of my old tires. So I make my first pass, fouled and ended up with a horrible 12.8. The next run I got good traction and didnt foul and came out with a 9.1, and after that run things got bad. I made my 3rd run and didnt get any traction (spun 1st, 2nd) and got a 9.8, so I thought Id make one more run for the night and my friend told me to shift as hard as I could. BAD IDEA!...I got a good launch, came to about 5000RPMs and jabbed the clutch hard and something broke, I heard pieces of something hitting something and it wouldnt come out of 1st gear. So when the car is off it shifts fine through every gear but if its running I cant get into any gear...So I ended up driving home using the starter for my 1st gear and shifting without the clutch the whole way home
I jacked the car up this morning, adjusted the clutch cable as tight as I could and it still wouldnt go into any gear when running. I can rule out the tranny and the clutch cable, Do you think I broke my pressure plate????

you beat the hell out of it. id guess you blew your clutch to hell and back
I thought those things are supposed to be heavy duty

KC's are suposed to be pretty strong! I was about to cry for my King Cobra haha, sorry to hear about the clutch though, atleast it makes sense. Like 25th says its better to have a weaker clutch then tranny.
