Like the title says i went to the track on wednesday. Everything was going pretty well i ran a pair of 12.1's with a best MPH of 115. So on my 4th run of the night i miss 3rd gear and rev the car into next week. The car shut down and i coasted the rest of the way to the exit. I tore valve cover off to find that ALL the pushrods on the drivers side were bent, i took the head off and found 3 exhaust valves stuck open and one of the exhuast valves was broken off and stuck in the piston

Oh man, sorry to hear that. I blew up a tranny at the track and it was one of the worse feelings in the world. Now its time to build something bigger and better.

would this happen jsut from over revving the motor or is it likely that the valve was gonna go anyways?

Bummer man, sorry to hear that. At least now you have an excuse to build a new motor.

Did your tranny survive the missed shift?

My buddies keep trying to get me to take my car to the track, but I haven't cuz it's my daily driver, and I'm afraid something like that will happen.

Jeff
