Whats up fellas,

I ordered my car last week, using the 18R, as I figured I could live without all the dash panals, control center, MyColor and door sills.

However, I keep seeing gauges mentioned. What extra gauges come with the 18G?

The Auto GT I test drove didn't have the IUP but still had what seemed to be all the right gauges (minus the messege center).

I got confermation today that my order was accepted, now starts the waiting....

What else am I missing out on?

Thanks for the help,
BJ

Thats it though, I cant order and wait. I'd have to wait, then order, Since it will reject orders with the 18G package for now.

Either way, what are the gauges that come with the 18G, that a few people have mentioned in addition to the messege center?

Thanks man,

I could have sworn the GT I drove had oil pressure and battery gauges?

And it did not have the IUP because the wheel wasnt wrapped in leather.

Does the ISAP package take out the 2 gauges that would have been there otherwise?

WTF? That doesnt make sence.

Ford needs an 18Z package. Which is 18G minus the my color....

Could someone let me know if the oil pressure and volt gauges really register actual values, or do they just automatically point to a preset value like the previous generation's?

I would prefer to have the 1UG with just the MyColor and Message Center. I would then add on my own after-market dash cover.

I really think a wood-grain dash would look slick.

I'd wager the oil gauge is just an 'idiot gauge' like in Ford's other products.

The only retro thing I was hoping for with the S197, and they missed it.

Really? So these guages or no more than idiot lights? Either preset value or zero?

they dont flux like actual gages for instance i upgraded my dash to the new cluster last month and i did not have to change any of the sending units. we just reflashed the computer. just my opinion the upgraded dash is a must. i play with the lights once and a while but the message center, miles to empty, average mpg, time and mileage trip, door trunk hood ajar, the other day it told me security event accured and yesterday during the rain it kept telling my tcs activated everytime i punched it. one of the better ubgrades ive done cost about 300.00 to 400.00 to do it afterwards. i like it this way on my car because i didnt want the aluminum dash anyway.

Your car has a beautiful enterior. I really like the inserts.

Nice! Thanks for the info, glad to know I can add the guages on.

Afixer, where did you go to get the upgraded cluster? And does it have the MyColor in it too?

I believe the stock IUP 6 gauge cluster can be added without the message center. If you are only looking for the extra 2 gauges.

Not a great reason for wanting the cluster IMHO. Would be different if the gauges worked better than the warning lights but they don't really.

You can add the entire IUP one part at a time if you'd like to. More than one guy on TMS who's added the entire IUP package after purchase, MyColor included.
