what are loops for on 65-66 lower control arms?

What are the two loops for on the lower control arm of a 65-66 LCA? they are welded on the bottom of the LCA- they just sit there. about a half inch diameter loop. not sure what magic they are supposed to do- I'm about to chop them off so I can box my LCAs.

they are on either side of the end-link hole in the LCA, on the bottom. mine on my car now are smashed flat- I don't want to ask how that happened...

What are the jacking tabs for? They are about to meet their fate with my grinder unless they do something worth while..

So that when you jack your car up by the control arm, it doesn't slide off.

exactly, personally i would just cut a notch in the boxing plate and keep the tabs. i had some aftermarket control arms that didn't have the tab or even the little nub that some of them have now and the jack slipped of course, luckily i hadn't taken the wheel off yet.
