To control wheelhop by dampening movement of the axle.

basically the stock lower control arms suck so bad that you can have axle wrap. so rather than do a nice control arm ford just put quad shocks on. short story long the 99-04 have cheap suspention and that is why they handle like crap.

Why have I never heard of a quad shock besides the fact that I don't be all that smart.

What has those on it?

A panhard bar and control arms is the perfect solution but there can be some tailpipe issues.

I went with the MM drag control arms with front and rear spherical bearings and it was night and day on the rear axle location. you will think you are driving a different car when you enter a corner at high speed and nail the throttle coming out of it.

I have thought about adding a PHB and torque arm but this is just my driver right now and the control arms and subs made it predictable enough I no longer load my shorts due to unpredicable car reaction so i am content for now.

figure what you want out of your car first, and what you can handle (stiff feeling) as a daily driven car, i know alot of people complain that put on 'just' harder springs

I have Lakewood LCA's and have no wheel hop and the rear doesn't swing out on a hard 1-2 shift, but i think my sagging Eibach springs are making the car harder to launch and leading to traction issues. I'll be removing the quad shocks when i get some H&R SuperSport springs this summer but for now, they stay on.

That's weird because I removed mine all together. And I'm still using the stock LCA's and UCA's. The only thing that isn't stock are the springs (eibach pro kit).

AND I get no wheel hop in corners or going straight!

You only need the LCAs

You'd have to look into getting the axle in place for that, like a panhard bar and LCAs will greatly reduce the swaying, the quads do nothing in locating the side to side movement

i do not mind a harsher ride as my friends and i love to take the twisties and i think the best handling car ive ever been in was a AE86 Corolla that had about 4 grand worth of Tein Suspension on it at some cheapo 185/60/r14 tires...
