i am looking to get the bullit struts & shocks, what are the best springs for me that drop car even all around. i only want to go down about 1 inch max,and i dont want a real harsh ride. these are going on a 96 gt. any suggswould be great. thanks
Depends on what you match the springs up with. I have the H&R Supersports with a set of Mach I shocks/struts that I bought from http://www.fordpartsnetwork.com and they work great. Nice riding combo that handles much better than stock. For $400, you can't beat the combo for that price.
I am in the same situation. Want to lower my car without having to worry about scraping everywhere. If I had the money right now, I'd get a set of Bilstein HD struts and shocks from Ebay (can be found for 450$) and Steeda Sport springs.
My brother in law has Eibach Sportlines on his Cobra and wishes he didn't go so low
n.j. you got the 16" or 17" wheels ? I went fro 16" to 18" wheels and, believe me, sidewall height is also a determining factor of suspension stiffness.
It's a totally personal choice which springs to go with. I've driven cars with a 2" drop and compared to my eibach pro kit I thought the ride was a bit to harsh for my taste. The pro kit will give you a good drop (up to 1.5") and even with my 18's, a solid firm ride without being to rough. I also put a set of mach 1 tokicos on because in my opinion the stock shocks were not working well with the new drop. It's always a debate which way to go, and I'm sure someone will disagree with my point of view, but speaking from my experience I'm happy with my set up.
I'm looking into getting my car lowered too. I'm pretty sure I've heard people use fox body struts/shocks on these cars when they're lowered. Any opinions??
I'm looking for about a 2-3" drop on my car (98 Stang GT)
i got the entire ford bullitt suspension for my 00 gt. might not have even dropped it a full inch. i think it got rid of the 4x4 look, but anyone not familiar with the stang wouldnt notice it is lower at all. ride is so much better, not any harsher at all. best part was it was like $400 for all springs shocks struts and sways. cant beat that. did it by myself in my garage. highly recommended if you have no money like me.
