thinking the same thing!

I was thinking about cams today too. Would it be worth it for my car? Does anyone have an idea about what the general gains would be if I put a cam in like the car is now?

The only other thing that will be changing is possibly an X pipe, and 4.10 gears. The gears I think are my next project.

How much do shops charge to install a cam? Plus, what would be a good cam for my car? I'd like to get my car to the 300 hp mark (at the flywheel). Would a cam be the way to go for that, or should I look elsewhere?

IMO I would start with the smaller mods first before jumping into a cam...as far at the 300hp flywheel...I have pretty much every bolt-on plus cams and I put 284 to the wheels which is probably somewhere around 320 at the fly wheel so that should give you kind of an estimate of what it is going to take to get to the 300 mark

I'm fairly new to the mustang world (see sig) and I'm tempted to get a 99+ GT and go NA, mind listing your mods?

I have also heard good things about the VT cams. Sean Hyland Motorsports cams are supposed to be good too. I am looking into stage 2 ported and polished heads from www.patriot-performance.com along with the VT stage 2's and a tune. Looking for 300+ at the rubber N/A. I am at 250 now, so i think it is possible...

Do a search for Patriot; you will find that alot of people have had problems with their heads.

Import lover tempted to join the Dark Side...

Oh if you only knew the power of the Dark Side!!

I may be mistaken but I think the heads that Patriot Performance uses are truck heads from the 4.6L so you would need different valve covers since the truck heads are higher.
