What can i do to my car with $1,200.00?

cams for a 2V only run you about 600 bucks, not including labor for install. If you still have stock gears and the car is pretty much stock it is recommended to go with stage 1 cams, i personally would not waste money on stage 1 cams cause to me it doesn't have that much of a lope, where as stage 2 has a significant difference and sounds awesome. I would start from the smaller stuff such as gears and exhaust and then go from there.

the 4.10s are a go. The TC is a go. and the exhaust is a go.

I am worried about the cams though... I was planning on throwing some 278s in my stock 4.6 but i am hearing that some people have had problems with this? I want a rough idle just for the sound i don't care about performance. I just am afraid to put the cam in and mes up he engine and have to tear it apart to fix it.

If you dont want to go in the motor do not use the 278's. Will not work on stock motor as I found out the hard way. WAY to much duration and lift for stock stuff. Iam having to flycut pistons, port heads just to use the cams. They are way big. They sound ***** sweet though. I think your on the right track. Due the exhaust now. Dont waste your money on shorties, buy long tubes, due the TC, and the gears, youy will love. Good luck.

Check mt thread out called, what comp's 278 due to stock motor. You will see what happens to the pistons.
