Bought some Meguiars Ultimate Compound and NXT 2.0 Wax. Decided to try it on my dads 1997 Expedition that never has been wax since probably 1997. The paint was in bad shape very faded with not much of a shine to it. I have the portal cable 7424 and hit the truck with UC first then went back over it with NXT 2.0. To finish it off I used ultimate quick detailer. After three hours this is how it turned out.

Before pics would have been nice, noob.

Just messing with you. It looks good. I'm in the middle of clay barring my 06 F150 and 03 Expedition. Next I'll hit it with the wax and buffer. I picked up some Mequires swirl remover in case I get too knarly with the buffer. I also picked up some water spot remover for glass. That stuff worked wonders on my vehicles where the spots had practically etched the glass.

Yeah yeah, I know before pics would have been nice lol. I need to pick up some of the water spot remover. I can't seem to get the spots out on my stang no mater what I try.

The stuff I have is called Bio Clean. It was about 12 bucks but I've used it on the Stang, truck and still have enough to do 3-4 more cars. Requires a little elbow but works great with a buffer on the large windows.

I had a similar problem with water stains so I tried the mothers clay bar. It worked great getting out the water stains. It takes a little time because you have to wax the car afterward, but I'd recommend trying it first. :nice:

Mna, I bet your Dad was happy as hell to see the results!

I've used Meguire's products for years and my 15 year old paint is still holding up well. Of course it's always been garaged and never driven in the snowy winters out here.

Damn that looks good. I need a porter cable!

Yeah the Porter cable is great. Use the orange cutting with UC then take out the gray pad with the wax. I even do the windows with it.

He was very happy, he said he will buy all the products next time. I wish I had a before picture for you guys. It is a night and day difference I didn't think it would turn out as good as it did.

The wax you used is very good and if it has been 12 years since that thing saw wax then it came out pretty good.
Seeing how the paint is you should go clay it then use a Lake orange pad with the Meguires swirl/cut, then go at it with a white foam pad and glaze it with the Meguirez Professional glaze. After that hit it with your new wax using the black application/finnishing pad. It will come out with such a deep shine you will stare at it like that Tony/Armorall commercial. :nice:

Na I don't think there was a need for that. Meguirez UC is a great product and worked wonders with the Lake Orange Pad. It brought the surface to a very smooth finish and looked awesome with just that. Then putting NXT 2.0 added depth and made the surface supper slick with no swirl marks.
