Going carb. Need to know what would be a good match for my new combo. I have afr 185 heads 58cc, custom cam .600/.570 230/236* 1.6 rockers, balanced 10:1 forged 306 with longtubes offroad h and dumps. Looking to replace my RPM 2 intake and 30# injectors. I also plan on selling my tweecer rt and laptop.

What size and brand of carb would be a good match, and also what would be a good carb intake that would get the most power out of my combo(comperable to the rpm 2)? Looking for 11's NA. I will also be stacking a 150 shot on top.

I dont know much about carb combos, but I am sick of trying to constantly tune out the bugs with the efi. My dad is old school, and can tune a carb blindfolded.

Please help me pick the right parts!!
Thanks
Ted

If it's mostly for street use, i'd go with a Stealth. If you're looking for 6k+ RPM power, go with a Victor Jr. The Stealth makes killer bottom end on just about any motor and will make power clean up to about 6k, and if you need to rev higher than that you can always port it.

Any particular brand of carb thats really good?? Also, do the runners of any of these intakes match the port size of afr 185"s?? I dont want to have to port match.
Thanks
Ted

I think that Edelbrock now makes a 650CFM carb. I have never had problems with Eddy's products.

Demon would be a good carb too (but I have never owned one)

Definently get the Weiland Stealth! They make the best products

demon carbs are very nice.. but can be a bit of a tuning nightmare.. can't go wrong with a holley 650dp.. as for intakes a edelbrock rpm air gap works great from idle to 6500ish rpm.. if you plan on turning more rpm i would go victor jr.

Definately go with a Holley 650 double pumper....it'll grow with your current engine and with some jetting will be plenty carb. I chose the Stealth over the Airgap because the 2 perform nearly identically, but the Stealth has been dynoed at making more bottom end, and it's WAY cheaper. Plus i got mine used for 80 bucks.

*EDIT*
As a side not about Demon carbs....i have a 'man on the inside' who gave me some input on Demons. He said that BG just got their asses sued off by Holley for copyright infringment. Basically, the internals were exactly the same as Holley internals. He said that the last Demon carb he bought also had metal shavings all throughout. This was a huge surprise to me because i've never heard anything bad about Demon carbs. This person also sells/runs a speed shop and makes a lot more money off of Demon carbs than Holley carbs, so he wasnt trying to push a more expensive product on me. I also ended up buying my carb from another shop anyways. So if it's all true, all those awesome running Demon carbs out there are basically just awesome running Holleys with pretty fuel bowls on'em.
