I am thinking about going to the junkyard tomorrow to get an alternator. What cars will have a 3G alternator? What else should I get from a car that has a 3G? Just cut the wires someplace?
I wish I had the link, but I know one of them has a big long list, and most of them aren't clocked correctly to be mounted the way the 3g does. Try a search for 6g* .. I remember reading a big long thread about that not too long ago here with some good info in it.
the 3.8l taurus i got my fan from looked like the proper 3g alternator i can use to put on my stang...it was a 94 taurus i think...plenty of other cars also that has them
Cuz some people have no money right now like me and want to improve my car and if I can get a 3g 130 amp alternator and harness for $11.31 and for another 2 extra dollars a 30 day warranty...Im doing it hah (at least till I can get a newer one)....if its a lifetime warranty it prob means its a reman and will crap out in like 6 months lol my friend has gone through soo many advance auto starters n alternators one after the other, he got a New one from pep boys, still going after 3 years so far, but I dont think it has a lifeimte warranty.
