So this will be my first Foxbody, it is a 1988 coupe that was a 4 cylinder but was 5.0 swapped, my question is where do I find the color code on the car or if y’all can tell me what color is it, planning on painting it the factory color it came with

Color code is located on back of driver's side door above latch.
'88's had 2 reds: Scarlet Red & Cabernet Red (Paint Code #618).
My '88 GT is Cabernet Red; yours appears to be Scarlet Red

BTW, it is not clear coated.

I’m pretty sure It’s clear coated.

that paint tag was completely trashed on my 86. Ford parts guy "guessed" oxford white and I bought a can and it was correct!

1990 was when clearcoats were an option. Prior to that a lot of the metallics had added clear which gave them some good shine, but wasn't a true clear coat.

The notch on OPs post is Scarlet Red

618 is not a paint code. That is the body code (it's actually 61B). 61B = Mustang 3-door sedan (hatchback).

Scarlet Red paint code is 2D
Cabernet Red paint code is 2H

I had a hard time reading it in the garage.
Tag & eyes are fading.
2H sounds familiar.

my 87 LX mustang is 2H-Medium cabernet, definitely the same color as yours, albeit mines fading, BUT I'm gonna re paint it with my dad!
