what color paint do i need for the cluster bezel?

did some advanced searching on here and came up with alot of mixed info on painting the interior. seems like i'll go with the 14 dolla dealership paint. I just bought a autometer cluster thingy with the two extra gauges that is gloss black and i need it to be sorta charcoal colored

here is a pic of my cluster color. what does FORD call this color? 2001 bullitt.

"midnight black"

I think the P/N is M4JZ-19M547-1074H.

Yep, "midnight black" is the official name of the dark grey interior color, the marketing people call it "dark charcoal" in the brochures. However, in the parts department, you need to use the "midnight black" name.

As a little side story about that color name, when the first info came out for the 2003 Mach 1, they mistakenly used the true name of "midnight black" in the early literature. Potential Mach 1 buyers were all dancing in the streets thinking that they would, uniquely, have a jet black interior. However, what they got was the same dark charcoal interior color as other Mustangs and later literature corrected the name.

I went through a similar thing back with my '95. What the marketing people called "crystal white" had a true name of "ultra white". If you needed matching touch-up paint, you got "ultra white".

I had toyed on and off about getting the CDC kit. However, I lucked out, and found a used, true, mach 1 hood in just the right factory color (DSG). With that, I went with the KarKraft kit and fulfilled my dream of having a convertible with a shaker.
