What colour to go with?

Hey everyone,

I just thought I would share with you a few pics of my 86 GT. I just finished restoring the car, which mainly consisted of tying up a bunch of loose ends in the interior, and doing a bit of bodywork and painting the car to match all around. (the front was red, and the body was black because its an aero nose conversion) I painted the car flat black and added a white stripe type thing on the hood just to break up all of that black. Now that I've got the 347 motor in the car, after I get my exhaust done I'll be painting it..

My question is to you guys, what colour should I go with? I was thinking an electric or sonic blue, or perhaps a midnight blue. I want to keep my design on the hood though. If you guys dont think it looks too bad I might just keep the black but repaint the whole car, so its not as patchy.

I dont want to get flamed too bad about the black, but so far everyone likes it and thinks it looks neat. But I just want an actual paint job because I like the look of the flat black, but I doubt it will hold up long since there isnt much protection. I still need to get all new trim for the car and lots of other stuff, but its in mint mechanical shape so im happy with it. Gets awesome gas mileage too, I'm surprised.

Anyways, on to the pics, and feel free to add your suggestions colour wise.

Ignore the chevy, I had to drive that when my service truck was gettin its bedliner sprayed.

I took this design from what some of the 86 Gt's had on their frontends, but I used the 83-84 GT logo rather than the 85-86 because I like it better.

What kind of paint did you use? Did you spray it out of a cup gun or a spray can? I'm going to primmer my car soon for the time being untill I can afford a good paint job.

I think it looks cool.

I just used a can, but since people think it looks cool I'll use a grafity feed gun in my shop with an inline filter and the whole deal. In person it looks just as good, but you can see streaks on the roof and hood in some light because spray cans dont like to spray down. Other than that it just needs to be thicker all around.

looks mean as hell, i would just get rid of the chrome window trim, and hit it agian with the flat witha sprayer like ur talking about. that would be nice.
Love the wheels on there too.:SNSign:

I should also add that under the trim it isn't painted flat black, its rockerguard, I dunno what it would look like smooth with flat black on the rockers. Prolly to too bad, but I just wanted durability.

Before you hit it with a new coat go get a fuggin new bumper, If you leave the aero I will be forced to hunt it down and rip off the front bumper, but I would leave you a nice 4 eye bumper :D
