Ok, so lets assume a $30,000 (+/- $4,000) cost for a car as a base of competition. Then rule out most SUV’s, Trucks, Family sedans, Motorcycles, etc. Only consider 2-door and 4-door cars that seat 2-4 people and are marketed like a sporty or sports car. Also, consider only 2005 or 2006 model cars. No 1985 Ferrari Testarossa that you found on E-Bay for $32,000 J

What cars do you consider to be a Mustang GT competitor, and how do you think that car holds up against the Mustang in categories such as looks, comfort, performance, and bang for your buck.

I’ll start:

2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe (base model).

This is a very enclosed feeling car. Being 6’3” I felt like I was being slowly constricted to death. My buddy said he couldn’t get it in a 5 spd and he paid $32K for it. This thing didn’t have a lot of nuts off the line, but it wasn’t bad around corners and sharp turn environments. Still not as tight as the GT I thought. The one thing that was nice performance wise was breaking. It would stop on a dime, even under mind turning conditions.

Inside the car would have been more comfortable if I was smaller, but the seats were soft. I would want to try and get in the back. It looked a little more hoity-toity inside then the Mustang with the wood inlets and stuff. The trunk space was about equal, perhaps a hair smaller then my Vert.

It’s too bad all the Euro/Rice cars look the same. It’s not too much different to me then a 350Z, and Audi or a Mazda. They all seem to look like wannabe Porsche 928’s.

Summary: 2005 Mustang GT for the win!
