I was under my car and noticed some oil around the harmonic balancer. Where is it coming from?

it could be your oil pressure sensor or your front seal, you have to take balancer off to replace it.

Not the filer. I always put them on tight. Ive never had one leak on me. And its not around the filter. Its pretty mush isolated to the HB.

It cant be the Oil Press sender. I just changed it and made sure everything was tight. And like I said, its not really in that area.

Not enough to cause dripping but enough.

Im thinking its the front seal too. How hard are these to change?

I know my friend changed the rear main not long before I bought the car.

Another vote for the Front seal. They get beat from the heat and vulcanize. Once this happens the seal lips dont seal decently.

One thing: make sure your PCV is totally up to par. When it begins to clog, the front and rear main seals are often the next-least path of resistance.

Good luck.

Hey, how did that CCRM do?

The front seal is pretty easy to do if the front cover is off, but I've never done one with it on. I think I pulled the old one out using the same method of pulling it as I've used on the rear; by threading a couple screws into it and yanking with pliers. Popping the new one in is easy though.

And work around the seal so it doesn't get cocked/jammed on one side.
