what da hell..... TFI Module Question

I was wondering what happens when a TFI goes bad, or what the symptoms of a bad module are. Can I notice a difference in performance if mine is bad? will it still run?

I think if anything is wrong with it then it just won't work.

TFI modules can quit cold and keep the car from running.

However, the most common failure mode is to start missing above 3500 RPM when warm.

They sometimes require a special Torx screwdriver bit to remove them - $5-$6 at the auto parts store. Othertimes, it's just a good 1/4" deep socket.

Clean the distrubutor mount pad good & use plenty of the white heat sink grease when you put a new one on or re-install the old one.
