If you have the space to run the larger flat cap, get cap, rotor, and the adapter {cap base} from a late 70's 302 car or truck. Sometimes when you have a 302 carbed with a 14" drop base air cleaner only the small early 70's cap will clear. With the small cap you can use the MSD "power towers" to convert the old style cap {female plug wire holes} to the later model "male" style cap configuration.

FYI I am currently in the process of doing the carb swap...I called Jegs and they directed me to a new proform HEI distributor they make for ford now. The distributor is for 85 and earlier motors, so the only thing needed to be done to the distributor is a new right roller gear for the roller cam to make it work. For this dist. everything is all in one including the coil, hopefully should make for an easy igntion system
