what do I need to have a check engine light

What is involved in having a check engine light put in my car??

Anybody do thhis to there 88??

Convert to Mass Air

then you need to add a wire. I forget where. The instructions are hovering somewhere on the net

why do you need a light to tell you something is wrong, i believe you can still check for codes. i hate the light.

I bought a scan tool and pulled the codes watching the flashes and it had a code 11= system passed no codes. that was key on/ engine off. Then i did the key on /engine on and I got- EGR, Pollution(which I took it all off the car),and O2 sensor and some kind of tranny solinoid.

It just doesn't make sense.

I have a OTC 4000 scan tool for my buick, but I need the cartridge and connectors for a ford. If anyone knows where to get them let me know.

Post the codes, I have a fairly extensive listing of codes with the causes and fixes.
