What do I need to replace axle bearings?

I'd add a pinion seal as well. It'll never be easer. A "pumpin" seal, or, if you must, 'cone:I prefer black RTV)

I have no 9" inch experience but, as stated, pressing the bearing off and on is generally required. Use a hydraulic press NOT a BFH!

I havent tore into a rear end before and need to put in some new axle bearings on a Ford 9. So I need the bearings, gear oil, and what? Just the seal for the cover or something else?

While you're at it replace the axle tube seals. When I did mine, I was amazed that the old original "felt" seals were still in place some 38+ years later (and weeping a bit to boot).

Also, if you're near an Autozone, go borrow their slide hammer and axle puller attachment. Depending on how long they've been in there they can be buggers to get back out.

Have fun,
