I havent tore into a rear end before and need to put in some new axle bearings on a Ford 9. So I need the bearings, gear oil, and what? Just the seal for the cover or something else?
Well my friend has rebuilt a few rear ends at his shop so I assume he has all the stuff i havent got to ask him what all i need though but i'm headin in a few to the parts store.

While you're at it replace the axle tube seals. When I did mine, I was amazed that the old original "felt" seals were still in place some 38+ years later (and weeping a bit to boot).
Also, if you're near an Autozone, go borrow their slide hammer and axle puller attachment. Depending on how long they've been in there they can be buggers to get back out.
