I've read anywhere from 70-130lbs????...what does everybody torque them to...this is my daily driver...

I'm going to put silicone on the keyways..

Boil the balancer for 30 minutes or so...and push it on with some rags hopefully :nice:

Thanks for the "specs"

David

sometimes people put the balancer in the oven (Romacs) - ive never heard of someone boiling one. LOL.
an install tool is a good idea too. they can be loaned out from a parts store.
good luck.

I usually just crank mine till its really tight with a ratchet, I dont trust my torque wrench in the 100 lb range, cranking it that hard can throw it off when you want to use it later. As far as boiling it goes, people do that because it expands the keyway (while it's hot) making it easier to slide on, some aftermarkets can be a tight fit. It's not necessary if it fits though.

right. the Romacs are famous for being an interferance fit. most SFI's are. they dont slide on. heat expands the I.D. in the damper. however, most put it in the oven. i would not want to boil the rubber elastomer, personally. not that it is not right, just a personal preference. to each his own.

if it is an interferance fit (even if it is not), i think it is a good idea to use never seize on the hub.
