I put in a new clutch. The cluth performs perfect. But I still have that noise coming from the throw-out bearing. When I did the clutch I did not replace the flywheel. It has 106K in it. I am thinking If I go in and replace the flywheel, throw out bearing and the pilot bearing it will fix this problem.
What do you think? :damnit:

Thanks guys, I dont know what I would do without this site.

You mean you didnt replace your TOB, pilot bearing, and you didnt resurface your flywheel when you did the new clutch :jaw: holy **** man, you just wasted your time, you're going to have to go back in there, and replace the TOB and pilot bearing and get your flywheel resurfaced before you're going to see a 100% improvment.

I replaced the throw out bearing. This was my first time and the so called mechanic(girlfriends dad) said the flywheel was fine and the pilot bearing did not ned to be replaced. ????????

Thanks

Wow dude 18 - 20 bucks to resurface a flywheel, or another 100 - 300 to redo a clutch in 1200 miles??? I'll always take 18 - 20. Not that its only gonna last that long probably a lot longer, but do it right the first time. Any good mech. will tell you to resurface your brakes or your flywheel when you put new ones on. When you put someone elses shoes on ,even if they have the same size foot as you dont they feel odd??? different wear pattern, tends to screw stuff up.

Well how does the clutch feel??? is it engageing high or low? is the pedal effort still pretty easy or has it gotten stiff? do you hear a squeek all the time or only until warm? is it slipping ( put it in 4th gear at low rpm and hit the gas, thats where most start to slip). if no is your answere to all the above consider yourself lucky.

seriously, you will ruin your clutch disc in a matter of a year. Maybe less than that...who knows....

The flywheel was nice and shiny, right??? did it have brown/black burn marks......

It needed to be resurfaced, no doubt...

and you shoudl have replaced the pilot bearing b/c it's $10 and easy to replace.
