Ok i know i posted before talking about building a 347 but im going a different route...im going to get this block to start out with.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD...003QQitemZ130028509996QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

anyone have this or know anyone that does?? he seems to know what hes talking about, i have emailed him a few times, and he has good feedback

but on top of that im going to get forged trickflow pistons and the trickflow track heat engine kit and bbk long tube headers...that kit comes with the stage 1 cam...does anyone have that cam? if so does it thump more than stock, cause im looking for the thumping sound out of my cam...i might have to get the stage 2?

but with the setup do you think i could get 320 to the wheels?

i also plan on next year getting a vortech supercharger with 20psi, im hopeing for over 400 to the wheels after that!

its a bone stock reman shortblock, cast pistons and all nothing special by any means, add another 100-150 for frieght and you got a block, crank and rods for 800+ dollars? Not very smart by any means. The only thing I see that shortblock good for is someone who is going to do nothign more than slaps heads and intake on it and drive for a daily driver. Changing pistons? Add another 300, so now you got an 1100 dollar 306 shortblock

yeah if your gonna spend that money, go with a nice 306 like a dss, and then get nice heads, I would prolly stay with like a b-e cam and put maybe 8psi on her, should make 400 easily. Just buy a good 306, with the tf package and blower and your good, if you want to go to like 20psi, your gonna make upwards of 500 and then your block splits and then youll have to go dart or a sportsman block, so just keep it safe for now, the switch going from a bolt on 5.0 to a aluminum headed forged 306 with 8psi, is a big leap, and will be very fun with a good tune!!

Im finding this out the hard way. I have to buy a new shortblock now, apparently, when you have a small hg leak and the rings are shot, they start breaking and, getting into the oil and now I have alot of little pieces of ring in my oil. Still fires up nice, but wont hold an idle and wont go over 15mph and smoking like a mosquito sprayer.
